The land is located at the foot of the Retezat Mountains and belongs to the city of Uricani. The historical area, the settlements are mentioned in a document dating from 1493, issued by the court of King Vladislav II of Hungary, it shows that the nobleman Mihail Cande owns several estates in the Uricani area, including Campu lui Neag (Nyakmezeu), this being the oldest mention of the locality.
